A61s e American University of Rome: a new partnership on Aventinus Minor project

New partnership between A61s and American University of Rome as part of the Aventinus Minor Project: the project aims to investigate and reconstruct the urban stratifications that have affected the hill of the little Aventine, an area of ​​great archaeological density in the Aventine neighborhood, between the Circus Maximus and the Baths of Caracalla. 

The dig will involve two lots inside the garden of the medieval complex of Santa Balbina: in 2021, a survey based on remote sensing investigation revealed a series of anomalies that refer to buried structures, in accordance with historical sources.
Together with the AUR, under the concession of the MiC and in collaboration with the officials of the Soprintendenza Speciale di Roma,we are going to responsible for work-site safety , and supporting the realization of the topographical survey by total station.
The excavation will see a group of university students involved in the field: it's fundamental importance to set up and manage the risk containment procedures on archaeological sites and the prevention and safety measures of the various activities, routes and services.
