The awards were given during the awards ceremony on March 24, 2022, the event is included in the Days of Restoration and Cultural Heritage in coordination with the XXVII edition of Restauro - International Exhibition of Cultural and Environmental Heritage (Ferrara on June 8-10, 2022.)

The award was awarded with the following reasons:

"the work of restoration and enhancement of Temple of Venus and Roma and of the Curiae Veteres in the area of the Colosseum archaeological park is exemplary above all because it deals with a haghly-stratified, ancient architecture tha has been “reconfigured” by previous interventions; it is based on an accurate analysis of the monument, both a relates to the construction techniques and to the investigations of the constituent materials, paying particular attention to the previous documentation, dating as far back as the nineteenth century, and to the study of major restrations carried out in the 1930s.
As regars the latter, one should note the careful conservation work, together with a sophisticated critical reinterpretation which led, for example, to an interesting colour rebalancing of the mortars used to restore the drums of the columns that were raised between 1932 and 1935 and the floor joints of the Roma cella. The opus signinum floor of the Venus cella suggests, discreetly and on a documented bases, the original design. The choices are supported by critical assessments and are generally characterized by a discreet attitude, which offers suggestions without overlaying the evidence of the monument investigated and preserved in the completeness of its stratifications."

The restoration work lasted 21 months: during this period the architect Borgese coordinated the team formed by R.O.M.A. Corsorzio and L'Officina Corsorzio, with the support of Edil4Amendola. The work was created in collaboration with the Yellow Room and Decafib studio and with the scientific advice of the Colosseum Archaeological Park. The whole restoration was made possible thanks to the technical sponsorship of the Fendi fashion house.
