Palatin hill: archaeological excavation security plan

For the second consecutive year A61s and University La Sapienza of Rome are going to work together in excavation campaign 2022 on Palatin hill:
the role of A61s is the the planning and coordination of safety about the dig.

The stratigraphic investigations will be launched on two lots of Palatine:the eastern slopes of the Palatine and the area called San Teodoro.
The Safety and Coordination Plan will constitute the reference during all phases of the investigations: from the excavation, handling and storage of the resulting earth, to the creation of site paths following the progress of the excavation fronts.
Among the peculiarities of safety plan in archaeological contexts there is that which concerns the use of mechanical vehicle: within a delicate area such as the archaeological area of ​​the Palatine, particular attention is required in identifying suitable paths for the type of half.

The results of the excavation campaigns carried out in previous years have identified the remains of the sanctuary of the Curiae Veteres on the north-eastern slopes, a place linked to the origins of the city.
